Volcanoes Announce 2009 Schedule The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes will open their 2009 Northwest League season on the
road Saturday, June 20, with a 3-game series versus the Eugene Emeralds at
Civic Stadium in Eugene. Opening Night, at home, for the Volcanoes, will be on
Tuesday, June 23, when they start a 5-game series versus the Boise Hawks. The
Volcanoes have won the Northwest League’s Western Division Championship three
consecutive seasons in 2006, 2007, and 2008. The Volcanoes will play a 76-game
schedule in 79 days with 38 home and 38 away games.
Once again, the Volcanoes have an extremely attractive home schedule: Salem-Keizer will be home on the Fourth of July (vs. Tri City) and play 17 of its 38 home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights. The Volcanoes final regular season home game will be against Eugene at Volcanoes Stadium on Sunday, September 6.
